Killam Development is proud to support the annual School Bell Awards and Spirit of Laredo Competition hosted by the Laredo Chamber of Commerce. The event recognizes exceptional educators and students who are dedicated to making a difference in their schools and communities. This year, Killam Development is excited to announce that the Education Committee has doubled the amount of scholarship awards because we are matching the contribution, giving even more students the opportunity to pursue their dreams and become the future leaders of tomorrow.
The School Bell Award is a prestigious recognition presented to educators who are selected by their peers for their performance in and out of the classroom. The awards presentation celebrates outstanding teachers from elementary, middle, and high school levels, as well as higher education instructors.
The Spirit of Laredo competition aims to inspire a sense of pride in the local community among young adults. Graduating seniors can showcase their creativity and communication skills, with scholarships of $2,000, $1,000, and $500 awarded for first, second, and third prizes.
Outstanding teachers and graduating seniors in Laredo are encouraged to submit their applications for the School Bell Awards and Spirit of Laredo competition. The deadline is Friday, April 14, 2023. The Laredo Chamber Education Committee will review all applications and select the winners of the 2023 contest.
