The highlight of the summit was the keynote address delivered by Caroline Mays, Director of Planning and Model Programs at the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

Another key presenter at the event was Ken Roberts, President of WorldCity, who provided a comprehensive Trade in Review of the Eagle Pass Port of Entry for 2022 and shared his predictions for 2023.

The summit also featured an engaging panel discussion that addressed the international trade issues between Texas and Mexico. Esteemed panelists included Lauren Garduno, Chief Executive Officer of Ports-to-Plains Corridor Council; Daniel Covarrubias, Ph.D., from Texas A&M International University; and Camille R. Evans, Senior Analyst at the U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration.

Concluding the summit was Kenneth Smith Ramos, former Chief Negotiator for Mexico in the United States-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement (USMCA).

Homero Balderas, the Director of the Eagle Pass International Bridge System, delivered welcoming and closing remarks, expressing gratitude to all participants and emphasizing the importance of international trade for the region’s growth and prosperity.
